A Green Vision for the Low Line – competition shortlist announced

One of the five shortlisted entries into the design competition

RIBA LOW LINE COMPETITION

Launched in July this year by Better Bankside, the Low Line Steering Group, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and supported by Lund Trust, the competition invited architects, landscape architects, ecologists, engineers, artists and other professionals to develop a green and creative vision and strategy to underpin the future development of the Low Line.

The competition has followed an open call format, using a two-stage process. At Stage 1, 82 entries, including applicants from across the globe, were reviewed and five teams shortlisted and invited to develop their proposals further. At Stage 2 the five shortlisted teams will be whittled down to one winning entry.

The entries will judged anonymously, which means that the identity/make-up of the winning team will not be known until it has been decided by the judging panel.

LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!

The final judging for the five shortlisted entries will take place on 20 November, with the winning team announced in early December. We’re keen to get feedback to help inform the judging panel.

Between now and the final judging session, the five shortlisted proposals can be viewed in an exhibition that will travel to locations along the Low Line. Locations include:

8 – 9 November – Made in Bermondsey Project Space, 10 Market Place, London SE16 3UQ

13 November – Hop Exchange Atrium, 24 Southwark Street, London SE1 1TY (10am-4pm)

13 November – Bankside Space, 18 Great Guildford Street, SE1 0FD (5.30-6.30pm)

18, 19 November – Southwark Council Atrium, 160 Tooley Street London, SE1 2QH (10am-4pm)

Each entry has a unique reference number. Please email us your feedback at info@lowline.london or make comments in the book alongside the competition boards at the travelling exhibition.
