Signs of the Times: workshops to co-design new spaces

Friends of the Low Line invite

Tuesday 15 June 2021

Commissioned by Better Bankside, JA Projects and BBUK are designing a series of street improvements, created for and with the people of Bankside. Planting, seating, bike parking and signage will create exciting spaces for people to gather on and move through.

We've been reaching out to the local community to make sure our designs meet your needs and desires. To continue this, we invite you to contribute to a series of workshops called ‘Signs of the Times’. Over these sessions, we'll be thinking about how to highlight and signpost the amazing diversity of activities that take place on America Street, Wardens Grove and Ewer Street. What would you advertise? What do you want to share about the area?

The location of the in-person workshops will be emailed to all attendees.

If you live or work on or around these spaces, or are just interested to be involved, register to join us. Dates and time below. Read more about the project.

8 June:

  • 1 – 2.30pm – for stakeholders from Ewer Street.
  • 4 – 5.30pm – for stakeholders from America Street and Wardens Grove.

15 June:

  • 4 – 6pm – sign-making workshop – open to all.

22 June:

  • 1 – 2.30pm – for stakeholders from America Street and Wardens Grove.

This project is the next step in the Low Line scheme, which is creating a series of connected green spaces along the railway viaducts just south of the Thames.

Please sign up to the workshops using this Eventbrite link so that we can have an idea of attendance numbers.

If you can't make the workshops but want to share your ideas, please email Kate Poulter at
